He will now get his share of garbage thrown at him... for all I understand he did not ask for it. He isnt big enough to even refuse it...he would have seemed arrogant...

Hope, he will strive harder now with this...

One can't start a war with a nobel prize on his head...can he? :-)

jayashreeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20336474.post-59049392241222843132009-10-11T08:23:41.593+05:302009-10-11T08:23:41.593+05:30Thanks Ravi and Raghu. Some views are extreme!

http://www.hindu.com/2009/10/10/stories/2009101061900100.htm

http://www.hindu.com/2009/10/10/stories/2009101054660900.htm

http://www.hindu.com/2009/10/10/stories/2009101054580801.htm

The fact that Gandhi did not get it, is indeed a glaring lapse. The Nobel committee has regretted it. I have a strange feeling that the Nobel prize would have diminished Gandhi in the eyes of the world. Imagine the media referring to him as the Peace Nobel Laureate Gandhi. Could he be contained in those words? Gandhi not being honoured is definitely the loss of the "Nobel Prize" and not Gandhi's. Knowing him, who knows if he would have accepted it!!!!Anil Jagalurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17845606104258184363noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20336474.post-85045432987654642712009-10-10T15:59:28.669+05:302009-10-10T15:59:28.669+05:30good post.thanks for throwing light on the possibl...good post.thanks for throwing light on the possible thinking of the people responsible for awarding the prize.raghunandannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20336474.post-82563659465293636152009-10-10T15:13:55.995+05:302009-10-10T15:13:55.995+05:30Timely post, Anil. If I recall correctly, Henry Kissinger, and Yasser Arafat are amongst the recipients while Gandhiji is not. Bharat Ratna was slipping away too, till M S Subbulakshmi received it.Ravihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15845839408269118581noreply@blogger.com
